East Gippsland Water - 2 x AMF-370K
Following the Great Alpine Bushfires of 2006-07, which burned
from December 2006 to February 2007 (69 days) across
approximately 1 million hectares, East Gippsland Water
experienced a significant change in their catchment and one of
their water treatment plants were finding it difficult to deal with
the increased turbidity and Total Suspended Solids (TSS).
Amiad was commissioned by East Gippsland Water to supply 2
x AMF-370K (Automatic Microfiber Filters) by air freight in
response to this emergency that was threatening the quality of
the drinking water supplied to a portion of their customers. The
packaged dimensions and weight of an AMF-370K is similar to
a large SUV and it was no small feat to get two AMF-370K
filters manufactured and air freighted halfway across the
globe, within 6 weeks.
The filters were first installed at Wy Yung (Bairnsdale, VIC)
where it achieved reduction in Turbidity, Iron, Manganese,
DOC, TOC, Coliforms and E.coli.
