Free choice, and the ability to make
informed decisions to benefit you and
your business.
In our personal lives the choices we have
for the next travel destination, insurance
or utility provider have become
incomprehensible and unfathomable –
in Australia there are more than 40,000
insurance variations available and
policies with strings attached. To make
the right choice we rely on companies like Trivago ® and
iSelect ® to help us. They would typically ask us a few
questions to determine our key drivers (e.g. save
money or get more value) and our critical success
factors (e.g. inclusions for private health insurance),
before presenting you with a short-list of options that
matches you criteria.
This is not a new concept. In 1959, at a time when
Australia was experiencing an explosion of mass
consumer markets, giving consumers access to many
household goods for the first time, the Australasian
Consumers' Association – now called CHOICE ® –
provided consumers with objective, unbiased advice
that, based on practical laboratory testing and
research, helped customers/consumers be confident
in making the right choice.
At an individual or consumer level, choices can be
viewed and understood relatively easily. However
at the commercial, community or societal level,
understanding choice, the decision-making process
and challenges that relate to these, can be complex.
At Amiad, we believe in choice. Through
acquisition, research and development
spanning over 50 years, Amiad today
proudly offers a wide range of filtration
technologies that give you a choice. Like
CHOICE, we (the manufacturer) are able
to offer you (the customer/consumer)
objective and unbiased advice, based on
years of research, laboratory testing and
practical experience, to help you
‘engineer’ the solution that is right for you.
Amiad Australia developed a decision-making
framework called Amiad 4D (or Ami4D for short) to
Discover the real challenge, Diagnose the root
cause, co-create the optimum Design and Deliver
measureable results. Amiad has a number of world-
class proprietary products and access to a variety of
technologies, which may be op tions to consider
along with those developed by you, the customer.
Our application engineers and product managers,
based on their practical experience, in-house
research and testing, are able to compare these
technologies against your key drivers and critical
success factors, and offer you the choice.
We have successfully used the Amiad 4D decision-
making framework during the Melton project (see
Case Study on page 6), and demonstrated our
commitment to offering trusted advice and delivering
measurable results, by re-visiting a 10-year old
project in our Flashback article (see pages 7-8).
We trust you'll enjoy this edition of Amiad News and
welcome your feedback and comments.
