elcome to American Studies, a new class that combines American History and Literature. This course focuses on war, immigration, expan-
sion, manifest destiny, power & disenfranchisment, innovation, and America & the world. The majority of the content in this class is not prov-ided in a textbook nor in a normal class setting, making this class an eye opener for students interested in both sides of the story. Throughout the year, we’ve been able to improve various skills such as reading comp-rehension, composing and perfor-ming an interview, developing ques-tions of various levels over difficult content, and expanding our abilities of 21st century skills. The latest project that this class has constructed is developing this elec-tronic magazine. The purpose of this is to display a variety of ways in which Americans have fought for power and have pursued equity for themselves.
