This struggle went on for five years. In the end it was successful., but because Cesar was so fixed on the union, he did no know that his son Fernando was having a hard time. So, it had a negative effect between them.

Cesar Chavez has the talents of America Ferrera (Helen Chavez), John Malkovich (Bogdanwich Senior), Rosario Dawson (Dolores Huerta), and, of course, Michael Peña as Cesar Chavez. Dwight Brown from The Huffington Post called it "a rousing and empowering film." "An embodiment of hope," says A.O. Scott from The New York Times. I believe this film is an inspiration to all who see it and a powerful story. It also won the SXSW audience award of 2014.

Movie Review

Cesar Chavez, directed by Diego Luna, is a film based on true events about Cesar Chavez and the steps he took to help migrant farm workers the rights they deserved. It takes place in 1962 in Delano, California, when Cesar Chavez and his family decided to move there to investigate conditions on the farms. The owners would pay the workers very little and provided bathrooms for the fieldhands.

He saw the injustice for the workers and started a credit union to help them. The farm workers went on strike. In return, they were shot at, beaten, put in jail, and had pesticides sprayed on them. Despite such violence, Cesar Chavez would not allow a violent response from the union. Instead they went on a 25-day fast . The union targeted The Victorre Wine Company (VW) because they were one of the farms that was harsh to workers. People stopped buying their product because they heard about what was happening in Delano. VW then started selling their product in Europe. Cesar went to Europe to inform people about VW's injustices, which resulted in a boycott of Victorre wines. The farm owners finally granted concessions.
