Ruby was the only one out of the six children who was chosen to actually attend William Frantz Public School. Every morning when Ruby went to school, she had to overcome hardships, discrimination, and violence. All of these dilemmas are so extreme that she needed to be escorted daily by federal marshals. Do you think she can make it through this and help integrate their school system?

Ruby Bridges

By Andrew Palacios

Ruby Bridges is hands down a must watch. It displays perfect examples of how society was in the South while schools were segregated. Young actress Chaz Monet plays the role of a six-year-old African American girl who was selected to test to see if she could attend an all-white school. The story takes place in New Orleans, in 1960.
