The Custom Motorcycle Show Beaulieu, England - 15-16 June 2013 T HE 2013 Custom Motorcycle Show, held in the grounds of the Beaulieu Estate in Hampshire, England, reported a significantly increased attendance from last year. The number of vendors was also up, and included MAG Europe, Zodiac International, Motorcycle Storehouse, Custom Chrome Europe, Schampa and exhaust manufacturer Jekill & Hyde. UK custom shop Rocket Bobs was also present, with Pete Pearson’s World Championship 3rd placed bike “Gas’d Rat” on display at their booth. The custom competition attracted 69 bikes in five classes: Freestyle, Modified Harley-Davidson, Performance Custom, Traditional Old School Chopper and Daily Ride. Prizes of free entry to the 2014 World Championship in Essen, Germany, and £1000 expenses towards the cost of attending were awarded to the Best in Show and winner of the Modified Harley-Davidson class (sponsored by Harley-Davidson UK). The Best in Show winner also received a Revtech transmission courtesy of Custom Chrome Europe. Briliant Polishes also provided polishing kits to all prize winners. The winner of Best in Show was privateer Steve Peters for “Full Steam Norton”, a radically reworked Commando featuring a single-sided front end and superb detail throughout. Larry Houghton of Lamb Engineering won the Freestyle class for a second year running, this time with a Honda flat tracker. A flat tracker also took the other “Essen” prize, with Richard Fell of RF Custom Cycles winning with his XR750 Flat Tracker.
