Today, look at the American society, look at the kids. Do they have dreams? Are they encouraged to pursue their dreams? Are they hungry? Are you hungry to push your kids to do better? I have to tell you, I’ve experienced business prejudice when I started. I’m sure people were thinking “Why him and not me?” ALM - Many people today just a few years ago were on the road map to the American Dream yet ended up on the Boulevard of Broken Dreams. I didn’t want them living a hard life like I had lived as a child so I gave my wife the home. I ended up living in my car for a week and it was a wakeup call. I had to accept everything that happened to me. Regardless if I created the situation or if the world was out of order. I am the only one that can turn me around, and I’ve been in a worse situation than living in my car. As horrible as that may seem to some people, try living in a third world country where you can’t reach out to your neighbors because they are in a bad situation as well. In 1997 I was in a car accident that broke both my legs and left me in a coma. We all have dreams of making it big. Sometimes we can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel and our own people can sometimes bring you down, that’s OK, it’s all part of the process? We all have issues and situations that can hold us back if you give up. Keep pushing and don’t give up!!!! You need to focus on the end result. It’s not always easy, but you if you never take the first step, you’ll never know if your idea would work or not. Also, start networking at events like BNI, Contacts and Coffee, Latino Business Expo, mixers and the hundreds of business support groups in the area. If nobody knows you exist, how do you expect them to know about your business. If I would have stayed living in my car feeling sorry for myself thinking the whole world turned on me, guess what? I would be right, but instead I focused on the positive and was grateful for what I had... I was alive. It truly is a journey and not a destination.
