I Build, Cook, and Perform Little did David and Alba Gonzalez, both immigrants from Sonora, Mexico know that they were influencing their three children David Jr., Edgar and Adrian to create a mindset of success… or did they? David Sr., at the age of 22 played amateur baseball in Mexico and was offered a contract to go professional but back then the money was not what is has become today. So he started an air conditioning business and was getting ready to start a family, so baseball was temporarily put on hold. Today his business has turned into a very successful corporation just south of the border. Their parents owned a small air conditioning business, a banquet hall, and multiple real estate businesses in Mexico. David Jr. has deep roots in Chula Vista, extensive experience as a businessman and community servant, and a desire to ensure that city’s long-term prosperity. In 1997, David married his wife Sara. They’ve since raised three children, Josue (9), Sophia (7), and Mateo (4). As devout Catholics they are strongly committed to their Christian values including family, hard work, and a dedication to community. He believes his bi-cultural and bi-lingual upbringing has allowed him to understand the diverse needs and challenges of his community. Throughout his professional career David has accumulated extensive business experience, including partial ownership of several small businesses within Mexico and a partnership in a professional baseball team. In the United States, he has been a partner in a financial services business, the Gonzalez Sports Academy and a real estate company.
