ANALYSIS Big U.S. Names Investing in Macedonia A decade ago, if you had predicted that US-headquartered giants from the automotive industry would be setting up greenfield and brownfield manufacturing operations in Macedonia, even the country’s greatest optimists would have expressed doubt. At that time, a single investor, Johnson Controls, started operations in Skopje’s Technological Industrial Development Zone Company Name (TDIZ). But today, no less than 10 such factories are already operating or have announced plans to begin operations here soon, 7 of which were announced in just the past 2 years. The f
