Briefing with the Director of
the Customs Administration
on Authorized Economic
Operators

n October 9, in cooperation with
the Customs Administration, the
American Chamber of Commerce
in Macedonia organized an infor-
mative session where more than
20 member companies attended. The mem-
bers had an opportunity to discuss with the
Director of the Customs Administration Gjoko
Tanasoski and Zlatko Veterovski, Director
of Sector for Customs System about the
newly-introduced status of Authorized Eco-
nomic Operator (AEO) as a new trend in
customs operations, challenges, experi-
ences and simplification of customs opera-
tions. Mr. Tanasoski explained the concept of
Authorized Economic Operator focusing on
the criteria laid down in the Customs Law and
the procedure for becoming an “Authorized
Economic Operator” registered in the cus-
toms area of the Republic of Macedonia, as
well as the benefits from facilitation in terms
of safety and security related to customs con-
trols and / or simplifications laid down by the
customs related regulations.
