The problem is that once we are on the Hamster Wheel of unmet expectations, we become less and less productive, and thus keep beating ourselves up, creating more and more stress hormone and less feel good hormones. Getting off the external Hamster Wheel How do we stop said Hamster Wheel that keeps us stuck in feeling “Not Good Enough”? The answer is, we don’t. We don’t even want to try and stop it. That takes far too much effort and leads to failure. It is a fundamental human process that can be really useful if we know how to harness its power for the right things. Harnessing your Hamster Wheel It will take a little work and effort on our part at least once or twice a day. The good news is that it will take less than 5 mins each time. Now the bad news: You have to consciously commit to those 5 minutes at the beginning and at the end of each day until it becomes an unconscious habit.
