ITIBITI
BITILIT
The BesT
Defence…
Having a good gate and intact
fence should have been among
the advice given to rural property
owners in your article, “Stop
Thief” (Fall 2018). It’s a sensible
first line of defence.
On my family’s farm, uninvited
people too often drove onto
our property, often at night—to
cruise the machine shed, barn
and driveway. Eventually we
installed a stout gate, which we
kept locked at night and when
we went out, and the unwelcome
incursions stopped. (We gave
the gate lock combination to
emergency services, as well as
our trusted caretaker.)

A LittLe Love
My husband and I love our two Smart cars. A couple of years ago he
got me a personalized plate that reads ITIBITI. I get a lot of pleasure
seeing, in my rearview mirror, people smiling and taking pictures of
the back of the car. I’m glad to see people get a chuckle out of that.
We have a four-year-old granddaughter who used to have a
tongue-twisting pronunciation for the phrase “a tiny little bit.” We
loved the way she said it so much that last year I purchased a plate
for my husband’s Smart car that reads BITILIT—our granddaugh-
ter’s amusing pronunciation. We were very happy to get both of
these personalized plates on our first try.

Thanks, and
You’re Welcome!
I found the artIcle “Higher
Learning” (Fall 2018), which dis-
cusses the impact of cannabis
on legislation and driving, to be
very educational. I am the Reeve
for Camrose County; we’re
creating a bylaw to help deal
with the issue of cannabis and
driving. Information on the topic
is valuable to us and your article
will be very helpful to my fellow
council members and our staff.
