sleigh ride, but for many families the holiday
season starts with the arrival of a 14-car
locomotive. For nearly two decades, the CP
Holiday Train has rumbled across Canada, raising
spirits with its bright display of Christmas lights—
while also raising money and donations for local
food banks. Last year, more than 450,000 people

celebrated as the train pulled into 100-plus cities
and towns. This year, watch the train at stops
including Medicine Hat (Dec. 6), Edmonton
(Dec. 8), Calgary (Dec. 10) and Banff (Dec. 12).
Free to attend, though a food bank donation is
kindly requested, each event features a special
gift: a performance by top musical talents like
