Veronica joined Alzar School from Soulsville Charter School in
Memphis, TN. Like many of our students, Veronica didn’t have any
prior experience kayaking, or traveling internationally, but was open
to new experiences and ideas. Veronica quickly established herself
as a leader among her peers based on her strength of character
and communication skills.
Veronica is thriving at the University of Memphis. In addition to
her academic course load, Veronica is an engaged community
member, serving as a resident advisor, a member of Residence

Hall Council, and U of M’s Environmental Committee. Veronica
continues to shape change in her communities with her leadership
and awareness of others needs.
