Glitch is a science fiction novel that takes place sometime in the far future. I’ve been working on this piece for over five years, so I’m happy to get some of the scenes that have been in my head for a while down on paper. This specific excerpt is from the beginning of the book, where she’s kidnapped and right before she’s turned into a Meta-human, someone who was forcibly given powers to cause destruction and chaos. An insurance company is behind the transformations, profiting off the destruction caused by these individuals that are given powers that they cannot control, and released onto the streets to cause chaos. Molly has to deal with her powers and discovers that, though it may be hard at first, she could use these destructive tendencies and actually help people in the process. I’ve always loved superhero stories and comics, so building my own world around them is a dream come true.
