This poem comes out of a Center for Academic Excellence research grant last summer with Sebastian Melmoth on the topics of Bibliotherapy and literary trauma studies. I like the way it summarizes our research in stages leading to the final liberating and cathartic lines and nod to my favorite writer and (imagined) friend Marcel Proust!
