For this piece the genre I have selected is memoir poetry. I wrote this piece to help me grow as a writer and bravely put something out there that is about me and what happened in my life growing up. I believe it’s important to talk about issues that surround the idea of parental abuse and rejection. When reading those beautiful, vivid colorful books of happy, blissful families, I saw how distinctive my life was from the loving affection being demonstrated on the page. It made me realize how different my childhood was from everyone else. Why you may ask? Well, I’ll tell you. It all started when the flower met the bee.
