Alumnus Vol.55, No.1 | Page 2

How time flies! I have a distinct memory of attending a ‘State of the University’ Homecoming luncheon some ten years ago or so. It was memorable because of the surprising announcement by, then president, Dr. James Winterstein that NUHS would be adding another campus in Florida. The room erupted enthusiastically in applause as everyone in attendance stood. I was totally surprised by this and was excited to see my alma mater expanding its reach and influence into the conservative health care community. More telling was the dedication of the exploration committee that was tasked to research such an endeavor all the while keeping it close to the vest; no easy task. It is actually that commitment to forward thinking that keeps NUHS at the forefront of health care education. In honor of the Florida site’s 10 year anniversary, NUHS will be hosting this year’s Homecoming in Orlando at ‘The National-World’s Largest Event in Chiropractic” which is sponsored by the Florida Chiropractic Association (FCA) August 22-25, 2019. This event is well-known in our profession and will feature an international roster of chiropractic experts on 22 different topics, and features panel discussions on clinical, business and legal topics. This will be a great opportunity to network with colleagues, commiserate with alumni and interact with over 400 vendors. Given this event’s locale, it may even be a great excuse to bring the family to enjoy a theme park or nine. I encourage you to consider to come and celebrate this important milestone in National’s commitment to educational excellence. So make the necessary preparations to represent National at “The National,” and don’t forget the sunscreen. See you soon! Darren D. Hancock, DC, DACBSP 2
