Alumni News, continued National University Alumni Practice Globally Florida Alumna Shares Tips for Practicing Abroad in the Netherlands Since her days at National University, Florida site, Jennifer Gantzer, DC, NL (’14) always knew she wanted to practice chiropractic medicine overseas. She was specifically interested in New Zealand, one of the first countries outside North America to license chiropractic physicians. She never imagined that after a few years operating a solo-practice, she would get the chance to practice in the Netherlands. As chiropractic medicine gains in popularity throughout the world, graduates interested in practicing abroad are no longer limited to a handful of countries. Ray Tuck, Jr., DC, to serve as its new president. Dr. Tuck is a class of 1997 Na- tional University of Health Sciences alumnus (then National College of Chiropractic), and a second-generation chiropractic physician. Chiropractic physicians are able to find success in several other parts of the world as well. For Irene Cheung, DC, DPT, MBA (’13), a Chinese native and U.S. citizen, practicing in Hong Kong allows her to stay close to family while serving a growing network of patients. Dr. Irene Cheung “People in Hong Kong are becoming much more familiar with chiropractic medicine,” Cheung said. “Because Hong Kong has its own regulation council I had no concerns about being able to practice.” Read More 57 Years of Service – Still Treating Patients at 83! Albert Koentges, 83, may be the oldest practicing chiropractor in Europe, but he has no wish to retire. He was born in the town of Bruges in Belgium in 1932, coincidentally the same year that the European Chiropractor’s Union (ECU) was founded. As a young man, he developed a keen interest in health care, but was not interested in the pharmaceutical side of medicine. Discovering chiropractic, he was moved to travel to the United States, where he studied natural healing arts in Denver, Colo., before graduating from National Chiropractic College, Chicago, Ill. in 1958.
