Louis Crivelli, DC (2001) was unanimously elected chairman of the board of the Maryland Chiropractic Association (MCA) at its spring convention. Dr. Crivelli served as MCA president from 2013 - 2015 and was voted Chiropractor of the Year in 2016. He also serves as the Maryland Delegate to the American Chiropractic Association, and is the secretary of the Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters. He has been practicing in Maryland since 2002, and lives near Annapolis with his wife, Christiane, and their two children, Louis and Harper. Congratulations, Dr. Crivelli!

Lacy Ebert, DC, AOM (2013, 2016) opened Zenergy Integrative Health in Lombard, Illinois. The Lombard Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony welcoming the new chamber member on July 31. Welcome, Dr. Ebert!

Sports chiropractor Amy Berglund, DC (2007) of Stevensville, Montana, spent two weeks in June as a member of an interdisciplinary medical team in Kenya where there is only one doctor for every 10,000 Kenyans. Dr. Berglund teamed up with an osteopathic physician, physician's assistant, and pharmacist to provide primary care and basic health education. Dr. Berglund's primary focus was teaching lower back stretches and exercises to Kenyans, many of whom spend their day in subsistence farming where poor posture causes musculoskeletal injuries. This was an inaugural medical mission for Spring of Hope International, a non-profit based in Spokane, Washington. Dr. Berglund

secured over $10,000 in donations from two nutrition companies to support the team's efforts. “I feel that serving others is a gift and I'm excited to bring my special skill set to such an underserved population,” she said. Thank you for your efforts, Dr. Berglund!

Christian E. Laurent, DC (1971) of Lagny-sur-Marne, France, paid a visit to National University this summer while in the U.S. to attend the 100th Lions Club International convention in Chicago. A frequent Homecoming attendee, this year's timing wasn't right to attend both events, but he still brought a group of his fellow Lions from France to visit his alma mater. He particularly hoped to impress his guests with the anatomy lab, MRI, ultrasound machine, technique labs, and clinic in particular. According to Vice President Tracy McHugh who facilitated his visit, Dr. Laurent is a proud alumnus and has voiced that NUHS is where is heart is!

Congratulations go out to Nate McKee, DC (2016) and Shannon McKee, DC, MSAc, (2014, 2015) on the birth of their daughter Roosevelt 'Rosie' Marie McKee. Rosie arrived June 25 weighing 7 lbs. 2 ozs. and 19-3/4 inches long. The Drs. McKee practice together in Davison, Michigan, where they bring together a mix of eastern and western medicine and chiropractic.
