Students Seize New Internship Opportunities

Bonnie Brock, a recent graduate of the naturopathic medicine program, experienced a unique clinical clerkship at True North Health Center in Santa Rosa, California. True North offers in-patient care from an integrative medical team that includes MDs, DCs, NDs, RDs, massage therapists and more. True North also offers a residency for those who have graduated from an ND program and have completed an internship at True North. Read More

DC student Matt Budavich is another intern from National University to participate for the first time in the new clerkship program at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Illinois, 20 miles east of St. Louis. Matt's experience includes patient referrals from general medical doctors and the physical therapy clinic, an integrative environment for which he felt National University has prepared him well. To participate in a hospital rotation, students must have a minimum 2.75 GPA and apply through the Dean of Clinics. Hospital rotations may last from one to six months, depending on the program and the supervising physician's schedule.

New AOM Assistant Dean Appointed

Zhanxiang Wang, MD (China), PhD, LAc, has been named assistant dean of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AOM) at National University. Dr. Wang, who joined the NUHS faculty in 2014, moves into the role previously held by Yihyun Kwon, DC, PhD, MSOM. Dr. Kwon, who developed the AOM program that is now celebrating its 10th anniversary, continues at the university devoting much of his time to the field of research. Read More

Melvin Collins Retiring at Age 92

While Melvin Collins is a World War II hero, he is also celebrated here at National University for his boundless optimism, loyal friendship and many contributions to our university over the last 30 years. He has a place in the NUHS Hall of Honor for both his work at NUHS and for the chiropractic profession. He personally helped to set up chiropractic college admissions programs nationwide through the American Chiropractic Association back in the 1960s.
