Facility Updates Moving Forward
NUHS - Lombard completed the renovation of the east entry lobby in Janse Hall providing another student friendly seating and study area. The project included new floor and wall finishes, ceiling and lighting fixtures and glass-paneled stairwell railings and supports. The updated alcove also features an event-notification flat screen monitor, and the addition of a countertop with electrical outlets for recharging digital devices.
Nearing completion in the Whole Health Center - Lombard is renovation of the Hydrotherapy Suite to serve the clinical needs of the naturopathic medicine program. The redesigned suite will accommodate an infrared sauna, additional treatment rooms, and more teaching space. Hydrotherapy is an important healing modality in traditional naturopathic medicine, utilizing the therapeutic benefits of water as part of a therapeutic treatment plan for a wide range of patient conditions.
Also planned at the clinic is a refreshing of the Massage Therapy Suite with new carpeting, lighting, ceilings, cabinets, doors, and walls that extend fully to the ceiling for the privacy and comfort of clients.
Art Donation Enhances Florida Clinic
NUHS - Florida's Pinellas Park Whole Health Center recently received a generous donation of 10 chiropractic office posters that will enhance its facility. The framed prints illustrate various quotations on health including well-known statements by Hippocrates and Thomas Edison. The artwork was donated by Jeffrey Langmaid, DC, a physician at the Laser Spine Institute in Tampa, founder of The Evidence Based Chiropractor, and author of the book, "Marketing Chiropractic to Medical Doctors."
"The prints are a welcome addition, and will hang in our clinic treatment rooms," says Dr. Daniel Strauss, dean of the NUHS College of Professional Studies in Florida. "We appreciate all that Dr. Langmaid does for our profession and look forward to inviting him as a guest speaker for our faculty and students on one of his many areas of expertise."
