Alumni Chair Says Farewell

that have been made is that National University has managed to keep the traditions, ethics and morals of the institution a priority. For example, they have the top of the line human dissection technology in the anatomage, while maintaining one of the most impressive cadaveric dissection labs in the country. Also, they have not sold themselves to the highest bidder like a lot of institutions, which could compromise policy-making decisions. Unfortunately, both examples that I just gave do require that we as alumni continue providing the necessary financial assistance.

So in my usual request, I ask that all of you who are not dues-paying alumni, please sign up today. Or all of you who are active alumni, thank you for the continued support and perhaps think about making that extra commitment and become members of the President's Cabinet Internationale. For those of you who participate in both... you have the utmost gratitude of your alma mater! With that said, this will be my final article to you as the chair of the President's Alumni Advisory Council.

Since 2005, I have committed myself to every homecoming and have been involved in some capacity on a committee of some sort. This decision is a heavy-hearted one as it has been a privilege to work with the many individuals and administration of NUHS as well as fellow alumni over the years. These past two years of working with Dr. Stiefel have been fantastic! His passion is contagious and I have worked with very few people who are as open-minded, sincere and humble as he. Unfortunately, I have committed myself to other groups and/or endeavors during that time. Most of them are in my community, such as being appointed to the board of directors of the local hospital, while others demand that I travel. With a full-time practice, there is limited ability to get away and it is presently too difficult to manage it all.

I look forward to continue supporting NUHS as both an active alumni and member of the President's Cabinet Internationale. I also look forward to attending as many homecomings as possible, but with having to travel from PA, it is too difficult at this time to commit myself every year in order to fulfill the obligations of my current position. Besides my practice, I have a wife, 13-year old-son and 15-year-old daughter who have crazy schedules that require some flexibility.

I want to thank all of the alumni for your help and support over the years and I know that you will all continue to reach out and assist NUHS in the future. I also want to thank everyone at NUHS for all of the hard work I have witnessed over the years.

The leadership at NUHS is stronger than it has ever been and with Dr. Stiefel at the helm, NUHS has a very bright future!

Just as most of our offices are now “paperless,” so, too, has NUHS made the move to reduce both waste and cost and make the Alumnus available online!
