Anjuna Flea Market Roots of commercial relations between Goan tribal people and incomers started actually in 16th century, when Portuguese soldiers happily traded their mirrors, shiny metal chains and primitive weapons on gems, gold and spices.

After five centuries History made its sarcastic turnover and now the trade is still on, but the sides are changed. Indians and local Europeans with their tribal looking clothes, shiny souvenirs, drums, necklaces and saffron boxes happily taking Pesetas , Cruseros and Doublons back from the strangers and tourists, proving by that fact the power of Samsara Wheel.

It all started in the middle of 70-s, when Six Finger Eddie after talking to villagers, managed fresh shady place on Anjuna beach, where all Hippies could come and sale their simple stuff to make few rupees to survive.

Year by year Flea Market spread its premises and in the beginning of 2000’s became a cult Wednesday spot where thousands of people could spend their time on shopping, talking, drinking chai or beer, listening life concerts or just meeting happy travellers.

It is still one of the traditional places that keeps its own culture and rules and almost did not lose its atmosphere, despites global changes, that Goa is passing in last decade.
