an environment where even in a
full camp schedule, a camper can sit
with a calming and steady older adult,
hear some encouraging words, and
experience the unhurried wisdom and
love of a “grandparent at heart.”
If you are a grandparent at

Qualifications for
Camp Grandparents:
A growing relationship with Jesus
Christ
Willing and able to share the
Christian gospel message
Loving and caring attitude toward
children
Must enjoy outdoor activities
In good health and physically able
to hike up a hill and handle uneven
ground
Available for a minimum of one week
of camp
Successful completion of a clear
background check
Responsibilities may include:
Attend the activities to encourage
the campers
Assist during crafts and help put
things away
Serve in the meal line when needed
Attend campfire meetings in the
evenings
Be available to campers who need a
listening ear
Assist counselors with various tasks;
encourage and exhort them
Be at camper drop off when campers
arrive to meet campers and parents
