Welcome to ‘Allo’Allo.
Happily we’ve weathered the usual casting problem & come up with
4 new men, 3 of whom are treading the boards for the first time.
The company is outstanding: Peter cuddles his waitresses for the
fourth time as René; young James Mycock is very convincing as the
conceited, bombastic,
womanizing Italian, Captain Bertorelli.
Yvette is beautifully played by our own Sally Penna (welcome back);
as is the role of Mimi, which newcomer Sarah Barratt shares with
Becky King. Other new faces are: Trevor Windsor, whose
gormlessness as Leclerc is uncanny & Peter Tamblin as a masterly
von Schmelling. Esme Berrington plays her first adult role, as
Michelle, to perfection. Sue, John, Arthur & Brian, all old hands,
make it look easy. Edith’s singing teacher would prefer to remain
anonymous.
My thanks to everyone involved for making rehearsals such fun &
to you, our audience, who will have even more laughs than we do.
