All Saints Newsletter Christmas 2017

Christingle Service The Christmas festivities have started in earnest this week, commencing with the Christingle Service. We raised over £75 for The Children’s Society to enable them to continue their work supporting young people. Weymouth College Team Teach Year 11 Year 11 Food and Nutrition pupils were delighted to learn presentation skills in a master class with Chef Lecturer, Ashley Perry, from Weymouth College. The children worked on pan-fried haddock in black butter with tomato concasse, accompanied with brunoise of shallotte and courgette. As you can see they did a truly professional job. Christmas Card Competition The chicken was prepared in advance by the college chefs, they had batted it out, rolled it in a coat of bacon and stuffed the middle with a cep mushroom farce. The task given to our pupils was to cook the meat, slice, and arrange on plates with the jus and garnish. The pupils were delighted with their efforts and pleased with the results. Thanks to Ashley, they feel confident to tackle the practical exam in February 2018. The art department ran its annual Christmas card competition again this year. Out of some exceptional entrees from Year 7, Mr Broadway selected Millie Short's design as the winner. Congratulations!
