Cut different squares of cloth of
different textures and materials.
Allow the children to explore them with their senses and imagine what this cloth
could be used for specifically.
Digital microscope or magnifying glasses
Explore looking deeply to think deeply about each detail on the textile.

threads stay together

Afterwards, ask them to imagine a dress designed with theses fabrics, these colors,
patterns, etc., and to draw it. Do this work in couples to promote collaborative work
Ask them to describe it with as much detail as possible

On one of these pieces of cloth, ask them to look for some threads to fray them and
see the parts of the whole.
They can research different words with adults in school looking for the most
novel words to describe it and keep a record of all the things they observed, the
similarities and the differences.

Invite them to document their findings in Venn diagrams or data tables.
