CREATIVE QUESTIONS
PURPOSE:
1. Brainstorm

Use Creative Questions

Why … ? What are the reasons … ? What if … ?
expand and deepen learners'
What is the purpose of … ? How would it be different if … ?
thinking, to encourage learners'
Suppose that … ? What if we knew … ? What would
change if …?
curiosity, and to increase their
motivation to inquire.
2. Review your brainstormed list and star the questions that
seem most interesting. Then, select one of the starred
questions and discuss it for a few moments. (If you have the
time, you can discuss more than one question.)
3. Reflect: What new ideas do you have about the artwork or
topic that you didn't have before?
Tips:
•
Allow enough time for children to wonder
•
Be aware that many times children express their questions with an affirmative sentence
•
Be observant of the many languages children use to ask questions
•
Model the language with someone else in the classroom
•
Give post it papers for children to write their own questions
