Flora and Vegetation
The diversity of flora that we can enjoy in Kenya is a reflection of the variety in its
ecology and climate. From the coast to the mountains we can appreciate this wide range of
flowers and plants such as the acacias, the asters, the terrestrial and aerial orchids, the lilies,
cayennes. Nobody knows the exact amount of plants that we can find, but the botanists think
that more than 11,000 different species have been seen.
National Parks
In Kenya we find many national parks, the highest region
in Kenya goes from the savannah to the bamboo jungle, ending
with the snow covered peaks of Mount Kenya.
Some of the most important parks are Mount Kenya,
Laipikia, and Aberdares. In these parks we can find very rich
fauna and vegetation that are under the protection of the national
government.
Mount Kenya has two points of maximum altitude that are Batian and Nelion and that
the tourists enjoy practicing alpinism. The mountain is divided into zones that go from dense
