Suggestions of Activities and Thinking Tools:
1. Step Inside the Globe
Thinking tool: Step Inside & Thinking Keys
This could be an opportunity to express in a different way. You can create an artifact of
comprehension and let your students express how the globe looks and means to them. Allow
them to use different materials, like crayons, markers, paint, and so on.
Invite them to step inside the globe! Share and document their thoughts, feelings, and
questions.
Model: Do we find any connections what things we experienced before?
2. The Globe from a Cultural Perspective
Thinking tool: Circle of Viewpoints
Create a circle with your students. Invite friends from other countries to step inside the circle
and describe their view of the world from their own perspective. If you do not have students
from other countries, this could be an opportunity to revisit previous documentation or even
research media!
3. The Globe and Plants Kingdom
Thinking tool: Th. Keys – Connection, Form, Function
Share or revisit what you worked on with the theme Plants Kingdom. Incorporating the
thinking keys, invite your students to share how these themes are connected or IF they are
connected. Discuss: What makes them say that?
Form: Describe how the themes are-are not related
Function: How does the globe along with plants and nature work?
