Some suggested activities to develop with 3 to 5 year olds.

Getting to know the Galapagos Islands and their fauna. Show the students a small
introduction about the importance of the Galapagos Islands and their history. Don´t give
them too many details. Later, all of them will develop a network of the animals they
think they can find on the Island. What unique animals that we don´t see in other places
could we find? How would the oldest animals on the planet look like? Then watch a
video or look at photos of animals that really live on the Island and we will remake the
network and compare our previous knowledge with what we have now learned. Later we
will make a graph that can help us see what animals they found, where there are more,
and which one is the most interesting one according to the opinions of each one of them.
Note:
Please don´t always ask them which their favorite animal is, change your question asking which
the most interesting one…is that gives way for them to think more carefully. Depending on the
situation, change the animal if they wish to do so..
