Country of the Month: Sweden
1. Activity with Objects: Look Deep to Think Deep
The objects are provocations to prepare the inquiry and the interest of the children towards the new
country or concept to be explored
Keep the objects that you added in the closet and refer to them
At the end of the month, ask the students to make a crate with objects that represent the country that was
studied
Gather different objects/artifacts that relate to Sweden; if your don´t have access to them, use different
photos and allow your students to explore. Don´t present the country or the object yet
Allow time for exploration, inquiry, predictions
Make lists
Using the questions from the keys for thought, start a conversations with your students
