Infant suggested Activities
1. Standard- Cooing and vocalizing
- Encourage infants to say their name and names of friends.
- Encourage infants to say the names of body parts.
2. Standard- Show interest in people and objects in direct environment
- Encourage infants to observe reflection in a mirror. Model and encourage
discussion. What do you see? (TK Form)
- Encourage infants to observe friends. Model and encourage discussion. Who do
you see? How do you know? (TK Form, TK Reflection)
3. Standard- Turn head from side to side, kick feet, and move hands
- Encourage infants to move head, feet, and hands; while emphasizing names of
body parts. Can you move your head?
4. Standard- Following a person’s face with eyes
- Encourage infants to observe your face and the face of friends. Model and
encourage language during discussion. What is it like? Who do you see? How do
you know? (TK Form, TK Reflection)
5. Standard- Inspecting own hands
- Encourage infants to inspect hands, fingers, and nails; while emphasizing names
of body parts. Can you show me your hands? Where are your fingers? Can you
wiggle your fingers?
