Creative Questions: As you are exploring different materials with the students use this Thinking
Routine for creating thought-provoking questions. Ask them why we use this material? What are the
reasons? What is the purpose of it? What would change if…? Suppose that…? Review the questions
and answers and reflect on new ideas.

Here Now/There Then: Encourage students to analyze and discover the complexity of this significant
topic. Create 2 columns to present the current and the past materials and way of life. Encourage them
to compare the past and present perspectives.

**Some of the suggested Thinking Routines are appropriate for all the ages. Hence, we highly
recommend you to read all the provided activities of this section regardless your age-group as you can
gain a better understanding, get and generate more ideas! For example, if you work with 3,4 or 5
years old group you can use all the recommended activities but raise your bar of expectations, make
them more advance and challenge.
