4 From Raw Materials to Us – Innovation General Goals and Objectives: Undoubtedly, the burden of invention and reinvention falls on today’s generation of students. Consequently, the learning experiences should focus on fostering innovation. Firstly, with this monthly topic we aim to help children to develop a deep understanding of what innovation is. Moreover, we want our little learners to understand that each and every one of us is capable to become an innovator. In the 21st century, it is extremely important to build the confidence inside the children in order for them to feel comfortable to ask questions, try something new, take risks, reflect and evaluate. At its simplest definition, innovation is creativity applied. Hence, students need to be challenged to invent things. Implementation should be linked to what students do and through hands-on experiences students will be encouraged to make their ideas work. Our mission as educators is to promote skills such as imagining, inquiring, and inventing.
