In this picture, three year old children painted their exploration with the 4 elements and then invented
another ending, extending what they had experienced.

Intentional exploration using our senses:
o ¿Do you hear what I hear? ¿How are the elements that can be perceived with other senses?
Outside class, let them “listen” to the elements. Do you want to use another sense? You are
more than welcome!

Show real images of situations where the elements are present.
o Allow modeling as many questions as possible (I perceive...I wonder…What happens if…I
think this could or couldn’t…etc.
Tool to foster Thinking: Keys for thought, Creative Questions

Game, what would happen if…
o – What would happen if we were one of the four fantastic in nature? What colors should we
dress in? How would we feel? How could we describe ourselves? Let the children use
different materials to dramatize the element (e.g. paper of costumes or stickers or nothing!).
