win concept, where the students are able to solve conflicts looking for the common good more than the
personal one.
In our room, school, home, and community, everything has a function: The car, our bag, going
to school, our body, and other things.
As with the topic presented during the previous month, “How Things Work” has endless
approaches.
Take the opportunity to incorporate the functioning of interpersonal relationships:
•
How we relate with each other,
•
How we help each other,
•
Our relationship with the teacher,
•
How we function in school, etc.
It is important that the students comprehend their roles as citizens of the world.

Name the routine or tool for thought that is being used (e.g. if they are using the key
of form, show it to them and let them manipulate it)
Give value to the hour of free play, paying attention and validating the children´s
actions, movements for thought, and expressions
Remember not to correct the children´s thoughts; invite them to continue doing
research , inquiring, generating questions and listening to different points of view
Take on the role of facilitator; not of the one that provides the information and
knows the absolute truth
Take some time to visit the documentations in other rooms with your students
Invite students from other rooms to share your ideas, achievements, questions and
more
Use the routines and other tools for thought in the planned activities and projects,
but also in spontaneous topics that are born from their own interests
Invite all the students to participate; however, respect their rhythms and give space
so that they also observe, listen, and keep quiet. Listening is also considered a valid
way of participating
