17 Interaction with nature As mentioned previously, “How Things Work” is not just an invitation to explore how objects work (e.g. phone, computer, robots. etc.) It also relates directly with nature and the world that surrounds us: • ¿How do trees grow? • ¿What are trees good for? ¿Do they help us breathe better? • ¿And what do we do with the trunk? • ¿Can we turn it into anything else? • ¿And that “else”, how would it work? Suggested Thought Routines: Keys for thought Conceptual maps Circle of inquiry Interpersonal Development This development goes hand in hand with the citizen dimension, and refers to how the students relate with others. The routines and other tools for thought are worked as a group and not individually. In these discussions, all the students benefit from other people´s inputs and a collaborative comprehension is generated. In these conversations, much emphasis is given not only to the development of the topic, it is also an opportunity to model a positive language where you take values and ethics into
