Design a robot using diverse materials… If this were a robot, what function would it fulfill?
What could it or couldn´t it do? Would it have a name? Would it be the classrooms robot or the
whole school´s robot?

Name the children´s actions (e.g. you´re cooperating in…)
Share the children´s advances in the classroom with the parents, so that they can be
reinforced at home
Invite them to use their imagination; model that by giving examples that may sound
absurd and “illogic”
Promote formal investigation and model different questions not as an evaluation, but
rather, in an inquisitive and curious way
Break patterns of thought to help them see things from different points of view (e.g.
If while observing a work of art, they all agree that they see a castle with lights,
challenge them using the “causation” key – what if I say it is not a castle, what else
could it be?
Use post it notes to promote the mind habit of “reflecting to improve”. When
revisiting documentations or previous work done by the children, invite them to
change their ideas or move them from one place to another (e.g. Venn Diagram) if
you think it is necessary.
Invite them to look for evidence (Mind habit: Reason with evidence)
Give way to innovation (e.g. In an art project, ask them what materials they need or
they would like to use)
