8 Recommended Thinking Routine: Feel/Think/Wonder: Model the language. Ask your baby how it feels. It feels hard or soft? What do you think? I think it’s fabric….I think it’s cloth (At this point try to make connections such as “I think it’s like my tshirt” etc. Wonder with your baby why it feels that way, and if it has a story to tell us. Use the Form Thinking Key: What is it like? What does it feel? What makes this book unique? o Act out roles with your baby. Pretend to be a hero, a character, an item or an object. Make sounds and follow simple movements. Use the Form and Change Thinking Keys: Observe and describe. What makes this item unique? What is it like? What does it feel? How can I change this into something different? How can I make it look better? Promote your baby’s imagination and creativity. Activities for 1&2’s o Beginning/Middle/End: This is a routine for finding the heart and making connections. It helps us start modeling the language and naming events. Through this monthly exploration read a variety of stories with your child. Encourage them to sequence events of a story but also spark their imagination and creativity allowing them to change the beginning or the end of the story.
