Theater, Literature and Stories of the World
General Goals and Objectives:
Theater, Literature and Stories of the World can be approached from different
perspectives and move toward all subject areas. Our main goal through this monthly exploration
is to create opportunities that allow students to consider different viewpoints and experience a
variety of characters and roles in a natural environment of feelings and scenes. Also, with this
topic we aim to promote students’ creative and imaginative skills by expressing their own unique
meaning to texts. As we are all individuals, each reader perceives a story in a very unique way.
A story or a play undoubtedly can transfer us to another world, other places, reach other
cultures, helps us imagine and dream, inspires us to pretend and wonder. As we mention in
Module 3, there are different kinds of literature from fiction and non-fiction to poetry and love
stories. We are seeking to explore the variousness of literature and not merely focus to one or
two kinds as each genre have distinctive attributes and convey different messages. Moreover, we
aim to go beyond of what is obvious. Literature is not only about writers and characters in the
books. Hence, we want to introduce and explore the role of a reader, publisher, an artist and so
more that are connected with Literature.
