6 vocabulary we understand. By opening up a child’s mind imaginatively, we are inviting them to participate in an array of scenarios that further provoke their usage for the language. This can help further guide teachers when writing their lesson plans—they can better understand where the child is with their language and in which direction they need guidance to pursue. By guiding each child appropriately and nurturing their imaginations, we are not just building their senses of independence and autonomy; we are developing their sense of confidence and teaching them that their opinions count too. Research shows that by giving the children the opportunity to explore learning through their imaginations, they are further developing the frontal lobes of the brain, which is responsible for higher reasoning and behavior regulation. If a child has a tendency to be aggressive, this is an excellent way to strengthen that part of their brain which regulates behavior by giving them the understanding of how to behave in different environmental set ѥ
