18 trace outlines of their shadows on large papers at different times during the school day. Engage them in the activities. Connect also with Literacy. Read stories to children that incorporate shadows. (*See the link below)  Exploring the sand and water. Children can experiment with making castles or shapes from sand. (Connect with numeracy. Use of Form and Change Keys) Children can experiment by adding water to the sand and observing the changes in color and stickiness. Children can also recognize that sticky sand will make better castles due to the moisture content. Moreover, children can investigate the effect of water on metals, plastics, different kinds of paper, bread, fabrics, etc.  Sharing the planet. Explore how some plants and animals provide us with food. Where do fruits and vegetables come from? Provide students with a selection of familiar vegetables and encourage them to observe carefully. Connect with Art and allow children to draw the vegetables in front of them. Encourage students to sort food they eat (from food samples or pictures) into plant and animal categories. Children can also observe the differences and similarities between common vegetables. Use the Responsibility Key to identify our responsibility towards other living things. How can we protect animals and plants? How can we help them grow? Identify what a plant and an animal that gives us food needs in order to grow well.  Promote creative thinking skills.
