Letter for Educators
Dear Colleagues,

As we mentioned above, Design and Technology is a topic that encourages us to foster
creativity and innovation. The ability to make your classroom a place where creativity thrives is a
crucial aspect in motivating and engaging young learners. Therefore, with this letter we aim to help
teachers to promote creativity by providing some significant tips. Before we start, we should first
define and completely understand what creativity is. Creativity can be defined as the method of
generating original ideas and using abstract thinking in order to find and provide solutions to different
problems. The question here is: How can we measure creativity in children? Creativity in children can
be measured by the number and variety of ideas envisioned in response to a question. In simple words,
by brainstorming ideas for a certain situation. This can definitely be the basis for creative problem
solving, a skill that is essential to the academic success of school-aged children. In addition, research
shows that preschoolers are especially receptive to creative development. Thus, it is extremely
important to expose preschool-aged children to creative opportunity.
