Standard- Sort objects by shape, color, and size - Encourage toddlers to sort animals by color, shape, and size. 8. Standard- Holds book firmly in with two hands and turns pages - Provide books that contain various types of animals from various habitats. 3-5 Year Old Activities 1. Standard- Uses large motor skills, such as running, jumping, galloping, kicking, throwing, dancing, and climbing - Pretend Play- Let’s imitate animals! 2. Standard- Balance on one foot - Pretend Play- Let’s pretend to be flamingos! 3. Standard- Manipulate play dough and clay, forming basic shapes - Encourage children to manipulate play dough and clay to create favorite animal. Can you make a snake? Can you make a worm? 4. Standard- Drawing and coloring using a variety of materials, such as pens, crayons, pencils, and markers - Provide various drawing and painting materials when encouraging children to draw their favorite animal. 5. Standard- Throw bean bag towards a target with some accuracy
