Documentation is one of the key
steps necessary to create a culture of
thinking in an institution and is directly
connected with the process of making
thinking visible.
From the moment a person enters
the classroom, they must perceive an
environment where the thoughts, ideas,
opinions, and works of the children's are
appreciated, respected, and most highly
valued.
In the documentation process, the teacher must focus on capturing, objectively recording,
and saving the ideas and thoughts of the children. While the documentation should provide an
aesthetic balance in the environment, it is
important that the aesthetics and logistics
of the documentation are not placed above
the meaning and mental process in the
child's work so as to respect their processes
and decisions.
The teacher should revisit the
documentation by his or herself, with the
class, and with colleagues, in order to
