When an individual understands the reason for what he does, his attitude towards what he is doing is much more proactive, positive and open. This allows him to learn and retain more of the activity. In that same way, when a student consistently experience the need to make sense of what he does, he becomes accustomed to asking and understanding “the reason why,” forming the habit to search and find the meaning throughout his life. Contribution: The active contribution between students must be a priority in the education and culture of an educational institution. Individuals must be valued as unique pieces with individual abilities and needs that are essential to the full context of the classroom. It is therefore important that the system understands the need of each individual to be taken into account and valued as an independent member of the team, while understanding that each of these members has the right to contribute equitably to the larger group. It is likewise important that all learners in a school have a relation of contribution not only with other students but with the teachers and classroom assistants as well. In childhood, the relationships that individuals have with the adults in their lives foster the sense of confidence that they will have for the rest of their life, both personally and in others. With this in mind, the school environment must propagate contribution between the students, and contribution between adult and child. It is through contribution that children learn to share ideas and understand that others may have different opinions that are also valid and important. Through the sharing of ideas and opinions, children learn to empathize with others and understand that difference in views is not a problem but a benefit. Similarly, through the constant use of open contribution, children learn to offer help when it seems necessary and that there is nothing wrong with asking for help when you need it in turn.
