Anna Joy Harris is a singer‐songwriter , violinist , and composer based in Nashville , TN . Born in Austin , TX , she studied violin under Kay Vanlandingham , Linda Day , and in Eugene Gratovich ' s violin studio at the University of Texas at Austin . She played in several symphonies across TX including the Austin Civic Orchestra and the Temple Symphony orchestra in Temple , TX . Anna then got called up on stage at Hole in the Wall on UT campus in 2012 to " fiddle " ( which she had never done before ) and discovered her love for a range of musical styles that informed her unique " gypsy country " style . With the good vibes of her peers , Anna began writing her own songs and her debut release under label Delta Dime Records is set for January 2016 .
