Are you and Donny writing new songs ?? ………………………………………….. As a matter of fact , we are ! We have been working on a new set and debuted 2 of the new songs at our last few gigs . We should have a brand-new set ready to go in early 2017 , stay tuned ! *********************************************************************************************** Please describe an incident in your life that influenced you to write a song . ………………………………………….. That ' s a tough one James because so many things influence what eventually turns out to be a song . Whether it be a specific incident , a riff , a line , even a mistake , eventually you get a spark and then anything and everything gets drawn upon during the songwriting process . ***********************************************************************************************
What would you like to have the BLACK CATS accomplish in 2017 ?? ………………………………………….. As you know James , Don and I have been doing this a long time . Our original goal was to just get out there and play and we did and had a great time doing it . This year there was a conscious effort to really focus , we had a game plan and followed through . We went into the studio with the great Alan Rand and recorded 3 songs , so I think 2016 was a phenomenal year for us . In 2017 we would like to build upon that by making the video for “ Too Far Gone ”, going back into the studio to record the songs that we have been playing , write new songs , but the ultimate goal in 2017 is to hit the road . ………………………………………….. Yes , Andrew , your EP CD , “ TOO FAR GONE ” is awesome !!! It is the definition of NEW YORK CITY ROCK AND ROLL !! ************** Name two artists that have influenced you and why ? ………………………………………….. I come from a musical family and have been immersed in music since I was a baby . That being said the two biggest influences on me hands down are Bon Scott and Ace Frehley . When I first heard AC / DC something hit my inner core and I was never the same . Bon ’ s style and stage presence in my opinion is second to none . His phrasing was flawless , he was loud and raw like an untamed animal on stage but he was having a ball and let everyone know it . To me that ' s what made him great . Then there ' s Ace … even though I ' m primarily a bass player he is a huge influence on me . I watched Ace as a kid and was in awe … still am . Loud & raunchy with a ton of feel , that ' s how I wanted to play . They are Rock n ’ Roll ! ………………………………………… Ha !!! I agree with you 1000 %, Bonn Scott , AC DC , and Ace Frehley are my absolute favorite inspirations . Everything that rock and roll >> IS <<. ***********************************************************************************************
